Pre-Festival Activities 

Friday 2 Feb 2018

  • 9am-6pm: Canyon SAREX. Invite only. It is an official activity of LandSAR NZ, run by the Nelson Speleo Group SAR team.
  • 7pm onwards: Informal get together at the Festival HQ. BYO drinks and food. It doesn’t matter if you can’t make this get together, the festival doesn’t officially being until Saturday morning.

 

Official festival activities

Saturday 3 Feb 2018

  • 7.30am: Leaders/Assistants briefing @ Festival HQ.
  • 8am: Morning briefing for all festival participants @ Festival HQ.
  • 9am – 6pm: Canyoning trips and workshops, as per the Program spreadsheet (trips and workshops will not be finalised until shortly before the festival).
  • 7pm onwards: Evening function at Festival HQ. Presentations. BYO drinks and food.

Sunday 4 Feb 2018

  • 7.30am: Leaders/Assistants briefing @ Festival HQ.
  • 8am: Morning briefing for all festival participants @ Festival HQ.
  • 9am – 6pm: Canyoning trips and workshops, as per the Program spreadsheet (trips and workshops will not be finalised until shortly before the festival).
  • 7pm onwards: Evening function at Festival HQ. Competition, presentations and spot prizes. BYO drinks and food.

Monday 5 Feb 2018

  • 7.30am: Leaders/Assistants briefing @ Festival HQ.
  • 8am: Morning briefing for all festival participants @ Festival HQ.
  • 9am – 6pm: Canyoning trips and workshops, as per the Program spreadsheet (trips and workshops will not be finalised until shortly before the festival).
  • 6pm: Festival officially closes. No evening function.

 

Post-Festival Activities 

Attendees are encouraged to stay in the area after the festival, to do more canyoning with others who have attended the official events. Visit the Festival Facebook event to connect with other attendees and make your plans.

Wednesday 7 Feb 2018

  • 7pm onwards: Informal get together at the Sprig & Fern pub in Motueka. This is nearby the canyons in the Abel Tasman. It is 1hr 30min drive from Nelson Lakes / St Arnaud.
